They are such a sweet group of kiddos and I am so grateful to have them! hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving and restful week off from school! It has been fun hearing about all of your adventures. It sounds like my students did a great job with their "homework" and worked hard filling buckets with kindness. Thank your for taking time out of your schedules to conference with me. It has been such a joy teaching your children and I have enjoyed reflecting and sharing our progress with you. I appreciate your flexibility as we have had to reschedule many meetings due to the school closure. While our fall conferences are almost over, know that I am always happy to meet with you if something comes up later in the year. Please check your child's backpacks when your child goes home today. Here are the things that will be going home:
I have included the second trimester focus, and standards for you to review below. The school year is in full motion and I love how my enthusiastic learners are ready to take on anything! In word study we continue to work on the case of the silent e and Rasheed and Rocky are teaching us how to SPELL sight words and decodable words.. We are also working on words that include digraphs, consonant blends, and a few word endings (-ed, s, ing, etc). Please have your child continue practicing SPELLING the sight words that go home. My students are also enjoying reading and writing non-fiction and are excited to be done with the math module one. Module two focuses on MORE addition and subtraction, but we will spice things up with place value and harder equations. Warmly, Jennifer Cox FIRST GRADE, TRIMESTER 2 |
