We are so excited about costumes, parades, and fun! Parents, the best parade viewing will be on the blacktop area near the upper-grade play structure. We will be sitting in rows and will wait for our turn to walk in the parade (around the other seated students). With this new model, our students get to participate as well as watch all students parade around us. Our class Halloween Party will take place directly after the parade, and will include fun stations, snacks, and treats! A BIG thanks to all who have donated items and helped to prepare for this fun afternoon for the students! PUMPKIN PATCH Thank you to all who donated items and their time to join us at the Harvest Park Pumpkin Patch. It was wonderful! If you joined us, please feel free to add pictures to the Shutterfly Site, Ms. Cox's 1st Grade Class 2018-19. Please continue to and practice math facts (especially subtraction to 10) every day using books from home and RAZ kids. ****I will send home a copy of the pre-conference survey tomorrow for parents and students. This survey will to help me create meaningful goals for your child. Please complete and return the survey in the red folder by the next Tuesday. Thank you! Language ArtsMath We have been working hard and experimenting with a variety of strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems. In addition :), we have been practicing our math facts everyday in class. Thank you for having your student practice their math facts at home every day for homework. They are building a strong math foundation that will last a lifetime! Please continue to practice math facts each day. Here is a set of subtraction math facts just for our families: touch_math_subtraction_flashcards_1-10.pdf ArtWe have had such a wonderful time creating art this fall. We are extremely lucky to have such talented parents who generously donate their time to coming in and helping us create elaborate and wonderful artwork. I especially want to thank our lead parents; Erin, Kelly, Anna Sophie and Deepta! My students have each chosen their favorite piece. This is their collection (plus a few). Enjoy!
